How to use file names to simplify organization

Organization of files is a KEY concept in using any software program. The author of LseMod uses the following system:

For each project/requirement, a separate folder is created. Within that folder are all related files including building pictures, floor plans, and the client’s logo.

When naming files in the folder

Name the LseMod file for the building name, e.g. 53 Broadway

For the LseSum files, end the name with “sum”, e.g. ABC Company sum, or Chicago sum. You may also choose to number them too, e.g. ”, e.g. ABC Company sum1, or Chicago sum4.

For email files, end the name with “em” and number them sequentially; e.g. ABC Company em1, or Chicago em4. Numbering email files makes it easier for the client to whom you send the file to know which file is the most current.

Benefit: Using this file naming system makes it easier if you need to review files 6 months after doing the initial analysis.
